Dr. Cameron McDougall is a board-certified neurosurgeon with specialized expertise in cerebrovascular, endovascular, and general neurosurgery. Fellowship-trained in both open cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery, Dr. McDougall offers a comprehensive range of treatment options for vascular diseases affecting the brain and spine. His dual training enables him to tailor treatment strategies to the unique needs of each patient, striving for the best possible outcomes.”

Dr McDougall grew up in Western Canada earning his medical degree from the University of Saskatchewan. He then completed his Neurosurgery residency at the University of Alberta. During his residency he spent one year at the University of California San Francisco studying cerebrovascular disease. After residency, he moved to Dallas Texas where he completed a three-year combined open cerebrovascular and minimally invasive endovascular Neurosurgery fellowship at the University of Texas, Southwestern. 

During his tenure at the University of Texas, Dr. McDougall established a pioneering laboratory focused on developing an animal model for cerebral arteriovenous malformations using gene editing techniques. His extensive clinical and basic science research has been widely published in leading neurosurgical and endovascular journals, significantly contributing to the advancement of treatments and outcomes for hemorrhagic and ischemic cerebrovascular disease. 

Dr. McDougall also maintains an active interest in general neurosurgery including tumors of the brain and spine, CSF diversion and degenerative spine disease with a focus on minimally invasive spine surgery.
